Saturday, 8 May 1736 (Quarter Session Record (QSR)).

Hugh Moss and Wm Hawthorn for breaking into the dwelling house of Margaret Lowe and stealing therein.  After execution their bodies wee hanged in chains on Ettley Heath.

 

Among the Quarter Sessions papers for the County is the following item: “PAID Thomas Crook carpenter for making and setting up the new gallows at Boughton and the charges and expenses attending the same by the Mayors order £3.12.4d”
